Are you ready for a new kickbutt workout program?

I have been talking forever about getting new monthly workout calendars online … and what better time to kick them off than the New Year?

This workout calendar is a little challenging if you haven’t been working out regularly. But I’ve made it a 3-day-on/1-day-off rotation, so that you can get plenty of rest and recovery. Also, feel free to cut back on the number of sets that you do with each workout, progressing each time you do a workout as your fitness level improves.

As always, exercise with great form, using the heaviest weight you can without sacrificing form.

Burn Fat, Sculpt Muscle

This workout program is designed to get your metabolism revving to help burn off fat, while at the same time building lean muscle. The key to doing that is working with INTENSITY. Treating your workout like a casual stroll in the park will NOT get you the results you want. Doing intense, shortish workouts with plenty of recovery between exercise sessions is the key to getting the results you want.

Long workouts + plenty of cardio = overuse injuries, burnout, and muscle loss. Nobody wants that, right?!

But if you don’t want to take 2 rest days, as I have outlined the calendar, I have a solution. Try adding in a yoga or Pilates workout to fill in the blanks. Although remember: The good stuff … getting stronger and more “toned” … happens between your workouts, so be sure to schedule some rest and recovery time.

And as always, if fat loss or body composition change is a goal, your diet is going to dictate 80 percent of your results. I’m going to be releasing a new Sugar Detox program in the next few weeks, so stay tuned for more on that!
